Can't say as I haven't ridden both.
I did ride a DOHC CB750f and a wire wheeled GS750 back to back briefly and preferred the GS.

Well I had been casually looking for one for a while.  Wanted a blue one, the fastest of the bunch.

Had the CBX project kicking my butt and the never ending 750 project so I started looking around more for a "daily rider". Was really pissed I sold my beautiful 450, but the inches of 20s made that better.  During all the commotion and lack of a riding bike the chopper came into my garage.  Had wanted that bike for YEARS so when it came into my garage I needed room and money so the cbx left, I think it is in Japan now.  Figured I would use the chopper......until the cam chain tensioner gave up the ghost...

One day on the local VinMoto list a member posted a few bikes for sale, one of them a blue 1100f.  He had a fair price and the bike seemed like it would work perfectly.  He even road it down from northern CT to Long Island.  Not perfect, but a good rider, just what I was looking for.

So far here is the list of things the bike could use
-bath
-clutch cable adjustment
-fork seals, maybe forks....
-replace gasket on left side of motor to fix oil leak
-new rear shocks(not needed but wanted)

Few things I want
-F2 wheel swap
-engine crash bars
-rearsets
-renthal streetfighter bars
-SS Supertrapp pipe
-dyna 2000
-smoothbores
-1125 kit
-chin fairing

But baby steps.
Probably nothing that keeps the bike off the road for more then 24 hours until the winter.

As always it depends on a million factors.

A good rider is normally in the $2-4k range around here.

Yeah, I always cringe when I see what some people try and make these.
They are a real superbike from an interesting era.

Firmed up the stock suspension, might go down a notch though.
More "buzzy" then I thought it would be.  Doesn't like 55mph as much as it likes 70mph.
Great mid range.  Good brakes.

All around I think they make a great street bike on the road.

Got some ProGrip 714s.  Best grips ever.
Fork seals cam in today too!

Because I am a magnet for smoothbore carbs....
Some 33s.
Not going to run them for a while.

And some Raask rearsets.
Want to try them out and see how I like them.
Would like a more aggressive riding position, but want to still ride two up and not ruin the ability of the bike to eat miles.

Those Raasks look old.  I'm wondering if Raask's old stuff was of better quality than what you get from Omar's these days.  I am considering getting some for my cb750f3, but my one experience with them was about 3 years ago on a friends cb650.  They seemed chintzy to me at the time.

I've never run them, for the sohc they are to high, not sure on the DOHC.

Can't say I have ever seen any Raask that really impressed me in terms of quality, but none ever struck me as bad either.  Just standard parts in my book.

I'll blast and refinish them.
They have the rare ish passenger pegs.

I remember a guy back in the 70's who ran the Raask rear sets on his custom RD350 street racer;I liked'em because of having the passenger peg feature.I never had any.
