If it's cammed it could have a larger bore too? I went with the 812 Yoshi and cam. Let's find out what you see.

As far as the Delkevic, yeah I was looking at US pricing.

I did find a good used aftermarket exhaust on ebay.  Paid about the same as what I paid for the whole bike but mehhh....its a project!

Soldered the bullet connectors on but haven't tried it yet.  Hope to get some quality shed time to work on it this weekend.  Too cold last weekend!

Are you able to buy any of those hub electrical connectors anywhere?  The ones in the junction box where 4 bullet connectors join into 1 lead?  I know there are ways to splice but trying to lessen the hacking.

Also a question on tire install.  The inner rim is fairly rusty under the rubber spoke liner.  I'll likely just scratch it out with a wire brush but is there any sense in giving this area a quick shot with rust paint or even primer to stop further rusting?

hey barry,I have an old harness with a couple of those connectors in it,one wire is stationary and four male ends connect to it?I could pop one in an envelope and send it to you.bill

Wire brush on your drill or bench grinder aggresively and if it looks OK them spray it with a rust killer product and a new rubber protector.

Great.  Thanks. It wasn't as bad as it first appeared rust wise.  Good progress this weekend tidying up some wiring and getting things cleaned up on the engine.

Front tire is on so its finally sitting on its own two wheels again vs. the jack stand. 
Ebay exhaust header got a coat of paint today and I think I'm going to wrap it. Undecided at this point but I like the look especially if I'm kinda going brat with this project.  It's already too far modified by the PO for a museum piece.

Next check in will likely be the start up.  First since the 80s,

Pipe wrap installed on my used eBay exhaust.  Not sure I'd wrap a 4 into 1 again.  First time ever wrapping and found it to be abit of a pain.  Suits the bike though and the ratty look contrasts the chromed engine nicely.



Gas hooked up via IV.  Tanks just sitting there for show.  And it fired up and ran perfect.  Idled smooth and had good oil pressure.  Header wrap smoked off the stink.



No functioning brakes, lights or seat so there was no road test but happy that a bike that has sat since at least 1986 purred away and burned about a liter of fuel at idle (with a wee bit of sea foam), seemed pretty snappy on the throttle and other than a bit of clutch chatter sounded great.

Heck I didn't even swap the points!  Cleaned them up abit and sprayed them with cleaner.  Set the timing.  Static timing was way off.  Amazed that the points were OK as there was no cover on when I bought the bike.

What now?  Oh so many things.
