New Rider, New CB750 Owner in South Carolina!

Hi guys (& gals),

I just picked up a '75 CB 750, off of Craigslist in SC. Probably paid a little too much for the condition it's in, but it runs and I'm looking forward to riding. Speaking of....I've got to learn how to ride.

I've been surprised at how much it takes to push this thing around and keep it balanced. I've got a bit of anxiety about heading out for my first ever motorcycle ride (in 1st...below 30...with a lot of gear on). But, I'm looking forward to getting comfortable on it and I'm definitely inspired by this forum in doing a little work on the bike to restore it and get it perfect for me.

If it's hard to push, is your front wheel spinning free?  I had the brake binding once and it was a btich to push.  Second time I had problems pushing it, the rear was flat, LOL!

Other than that, I always found it easy to push around - but I am bit overgrown.

Oh, and she is a beauty, congratulations!

Allowing for the weight, it should roll easily. Check your tire pressures. Jack up front and rear and spin them. They should be able to make 1+ revolutions.

If its been sitting for a while, one, the other or both brakes may be dragging.
