Motad Pipes
« on: May 23, 2005, 06:56:53 AM »
Hey All:

My 80 650 is running like a swiss watch following a long drawn-out rebuild.  And, without all the oil all over the place it's also looking good too.

My stock 4 to 4 pipes are looking bad -- there's a hole in the left (#1) pipe and I've already fixed it once.  Time for new pipes.

There isn't a large selection for pipes on a 650 -- I've never seen kerkers for sale for 650s.  I can get MAC, but an old thread on greenspun said they were thin and didn't have a good finish.  I almost picked up some Jardines, but again someone said they had issues tuning them.

So I can get a new set of Motad pipes -- so far I've only found them in the UK.  Over $400US, plus shipping -- but from the only picture I have they look pretty nice.

Anyone have any experience with Motad?  Quality?  Finish?  Tunability?

Zeke

The only time I've used Motad was on a 250 Superdream. They were stainless steel and weighed a lot less than stock.

Check out if they are SS - if so, wave bye bye to rot!

The Macs are OK.  I have 2 sets and no problem except rider created.  Both black canister systems.
