I bought one of their albums used in the early '80s and they were called Angel City. Explanation?

For what ever reason, a few Aussie and Kiwi bands have had to alter their names when touring the States, maybe the religious fanatics took offense to the name "angels"..?  Kiwi band Shihad changed their name to Pacifier when they toured the US because they thought people would mistake it fore Jihad.... :o  True story...

Quote
Following 9/11 the band changed its name to Pacifier after music industry figures in the US considered Shihad sounded too much like "Jihad" (Arabic for "the struggle" but which is also commonly misunderstood as "Holy War"). The group reverted back to Shihad in 2004.

The first incarnation of the band was the "Moonshine Jug and String Band" and then "The Keystone Angels".
I don't recall there being a Angel City....??

The only time that I saw the name Angel City, was years ago when you could download free music from Napster and Audio Galaxy back in the old dial up 56K Modem days.

I assumed then that it wasn't Doc and the boys and thought no more about it.
There's an external hard drive here somewhere with well over 5000 mp3s
on it that I'll have to dig out and crank up for old times sake.
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

" In the international market, to avoid legal problems with the Casablanca Records' act Angel, their records were released under the names Angel City and later The Angels from Angel City."
From Wikipedia.
All becomes clear.
