Brazil should have turned up for that game.... :o

Wonder if it would have made a difference ultimately. They sorely missed Silva, that's for sure. Dante and Fernandinho were dreadful.

Its a real shame it ended like that for Brazil, wonder how Argentina will fair against the Netherlands?

The European teams are far more disciplined at the back than their flashy counterparts from South America, if Argentina just watched this match i sure hope they learn from it... I would also like to see Argentina get through... ;)

Deutschland!! Deutschland!!!  And Klose breaks the World Cup scoring record!!

One step closer (or should I say Kloser) to my initial prediction....NED vs GER for the final!!

My only confusion would be who to cheer for. My wife is Dutch but I have a strong affinity for Germany. I would be happy to see either team win. I will say that Holland needs to mark Messi very closely. If they can stop the Argentines outside the box they will do well.

That said.....Hup Holland!!

I'm no fan of the NED team, and have a soft spot for Arg. It will be an interesting match tomorrow for sure. NED is vulnerable at the back, but Arg without DiMaria needs to ratchet it up to the top of their game. And be wicked clinical on the chances!
I'm a CABJ fan from way back, so I'm pulling for ARG.
This is stacking up tp be a much closer game.
Messi now has Aguero to fill (somewhat) the hole left by DiMaria, and with Higuain up front as well....they're pretty solid.
Mascherano needs to play well today.

But, besides v.Persies' first goal, he hasnt shown me much.  I hope Robbin is in form.

I have to say it has been a long time since I have seen two such evenly matched sides. I know people will spout off in both directions but in my opinion both teams played strong defensively and due to that, were able to effectively shut down any scoring chances at both ends. The Arg coach said prior to the match his priority was to close the door on Sneijder and Robben and they did a fine job. At the other end the intent was to block Messi from the box and the Dutch did that exceptionally well. All in all it was a good match to watch and despite the fact that I was cheering for Ned, I was not upset when they conceded in PK's. Well done to the Arg goalkeeper, I look forward to seeing how well he will fair against the GER offensive line.

Most of my work has been done - if you know what I mean.

(BTW: During the first half of Brazil vs Germany I hyperventilated)
