CB750 Brake Pad and Shoe Woes
« on: June 22, 2014, 08:47:42 PM »
Hey everyone,

I just replaced the drum shoes on my 77 CB750 and can't seem to get both the rear brake brace and pully-rod thingy on. It seems like it's too tight or like the new shoes are too large. Has anyone had a similar issue after replacing shoes? I got my new ones from CB750supply.com so I thought that they would be easy to install and everything. I made sure that my lever that actuates the brake shoes was in the right spot, it seems hard to mess that part up.

The other thing was that I also got front brake pads and they just straight up don't fit into the caliper. What the heck. They also don't have the little notch that the stock brake shoes have. Pretty much seem like they are just the wrong pads...  >:(

Or I'm just being an idiot. Which I wouldn't doubt.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated ;).

You usually end up having to sand or wire wheel the outer surface of the pads to get aftermarket to fit. Nature of the beast, they paint them.

Pictures of both the old pads and new pads and the caliper would help. The front calipers and pads changed between the K6 and K7 models.
