Hello everyone, Jesse here...
New to the SOHC forum and just purchased my first sohc. I am normally over on
http://www.cb1100f.net/ seeing as I have been working since last year on my 82 CB900f. Still not done but getting very close. See below.
Been living in SF for 15 years and riding the same amount of time. In the past I have owned many vintage vespas, a cb350four, A Yamaha 72 DS7 2t, 78 cx500... but now only the cb900f and the 74 cb750. I Also own a 1964 Falcon. So I saw this CB750 on CL at a price I couldnt pass on. I had been wanting a cb750 sohc so was happy to have picked this one up.
My plan for the CB750 is nothing like the CB900. I just want to make a daily rider on a super budget (as a challenge to me) haha , nothing pretty/fancy but a strong rider. I dont want to change and customize everything like I did on my cb900. The cb750 still will not be completely stock seeing the poor condition of the bike. Id say it has been sitting for more than ten years. The motor is free and does have compression so that is good.
Things I noticed upon fist inspection
_Forks need rebuild
_front caliper rebuild
_Carb rebuild
_Replacement tank ... it has a couple holes
_Exhaust (used already ordered)
_Rear motor mount foot peg bolt (it is bent)
_Wire harness looks questionable
_Electrical - Elec ignition (the points look like they need replacing..) ... probably new coils as well , new battery
_Plan on Front and rear Avon tires for good ride-ability
_seat
_Rear brake hub is frozen on wheel.. need to get it off and rebuild.
Thanks for reading everyone... look forward to chatting on here!
