The bad news: I have a very slow leak in a couple areas from what appears to be the cylinder head cover gasket.

The good news: it's not enough of a leak for there ever accumulate any drops on the ground, so this is why I haven't cared too much about it. I will NOT ALLOW any bikes or vehicles to drop any fluids on the ground in my ownership.

If you search the internet for "CB750 cover leak" you will find TONS of hits on the 77/78s. I wonder if these are more susceptible to this problem?

I'm thinking of trying to install the gasket with the motor inside of the frame. It's been done several times by people on the forum, so I'm going to probably attempt to do this myself.

Is this as easy as removing the gas tank, removing the 12 valve cover screws (I'm going to replace them with allen heads), and just swapping it out by carefully fitting it over the valve cover? I'm thinking about applying a VERY light film of Hondabond on both sides of the gasket once it's in place.

If there's going to be a lot of scrapping, then it could be annoying with the engine in the frame. Still probably not as annoying as removing the engine just for something like this.

The motorcycle has a grand whopping total of 14,500 miles. So it's not even close to time to warrant any engine work.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share.
