Chains and Sprockets
« on: June 09, 2014, 11:11:26 PM »
hey guys new to the form so if this is is not the place then sorry.
Ive got a 1974 cb750 in the works turning it into a "fun" bike running 849cc, new WebCam 63a, new 1 over kibblewhite valves and a few other things. what i'm wondering is about chains, cam chain and also primary chain and sprocket ratios any ideas? I want a good amount of top end power.

Here is a tool that may help.  Lot of people run 17/48 sprocket combination - with 530 chain.

Primary chain - you can clock the cam differently to move he power bandwidth, I am sure somebody will pitch in.  I did 4.5 degrees ahead of the stock position for my rebuild 78CB750 SS hoping to move the power to lower rpms.
