550 engine assembly help!

Putting my engine together. Quick question does this bearing go flush with the case?  If you are sitting on the bike it is on the left side.

Also what is this bearing for? It's thin and I am clueless. Looked in the manual and I do not see it.

I got the bearing in the case flush. I had a spacer in the wrong spot. Any idea what the last picture bearing goes to?
