Apologies for the lack in correspondence fellow members. Although not actively blogging, I have however continued to chip away ever so slowly. I have had and continue to have problems with the uploading of photos and particularly the videos, so lost the motivation to maintain the blog.
Since the last time in which some fabrication and header work was completed, I have commissioned some more fabrication, having the ignition mounted, fabrication of side panels, fork braces, tacho surround and mount, rear brake light and cable mount, alignment of the tank and rear tail.
The top end was inspected and re fitted. A custom base gasket was made to allow for the higher lift. A little set back being the cam sustained some damage upon refitting and required some cast welding! Some re shaping of the fairing and wiring completed. Front brake and throttle cable made. Upon initial fire up, it was clear the carbs needed replacing as they did not have a choke or idle circuit. I understand they are off an SL125 and suited for track duties.
Two sets of original carbs were sourced and the 4 best stripped, hydro blasted and zinc plated. Fellow work colleague Dave Mac was meticulous in blasting the carbs, cast and alloy components so there was no polishing required. If anybody local requires any hydro blasting, just PM me and I'll forward you his details.

The third start up vid. Untimed and balanced. Concerning is the amount of smoke and oil spitting out of the breather. Over the weekend the bike is being re compression and oil pressure tested. Re timed and balanced. Bores looked good, rings and valves within tolerances. If there are any opinions on the smoke screen, your inputs will be greatly appreciated. I am hoping after a good fang, this will subside.
