Ok so I have 3 CB500's. One is a total parts bike. Im looking for opinions... I know you have them... as to which exhaust I should cut up to turn into a 4 into 2 system. I came across a couple pics on here that shows the style of mufflers for a comparison.
The red motorcycle in the pictures below is the same style as the parts bike muffler system, does anyone know who made them, name etc? Its solid, a little dent on the end of one of the mufflers, surface rust but I am going to clean it up and post some real pictures.... Whenever I can finally get back into the garage
The second picture is obviously the late model cb550 4 into 4 system. When it was mounted on the bike it sounded good but there is definitely a hole, possibly some rot in the bottom of at least one if not two of the mufflers. Should I just cut these up to use or do you think the other two mufflers that may possibly still be good on the bike would be better off being sold to someone else in need?
The third exhaust system I do not have any pictures for. its a 4 into 2 chrome system that looks pretty dang good. It has the trumpet style mufflers exiting low and parallel to the ground. The 2 into 1 collector on both sides has at least a nickel sized hole in the bottom of it. The trumpet style exhaust them attaches to the other end of the collector and its at least 1.75" in size, possibly bigger. They slip into the collector, not over them. I don't really want to use these as they look to be in the best condition but I can be swayed to think otherwise.
