Side note, why not have a thread in the tech section linking this? It may get more traffic or even put it on top of the tech section in bold letters...... Every month it can be changed out.. I noticed the amount of votes seems to have dropped.

I would like all the contestants this month to tell us how many miles they have on their bikes since restoration/rebuild...or how many miles they realistically intend to do. I understand a couple of these are brand new builds.

Just over 1K miles on my red K1 since the rebuild. This thing rides like a brand new bike! (It should after all that work!) The only issues thus far are a faulty neutral switch and a seemingly weak oil pump. I just picked up an oil pressure gauge and will verify that before doing anything with the pump. Luckily after the mess of an engine build I had, I have a spare or two around. Planning to do all this at the next oil change. Pics on my build thread...

Again, grateful for the nomination. Here's a quick review of the bike:

As I got it. 12,700 miles. A beauty mechanically, challenged cosmetically.

Front fender before mod.

Repaired side cover (rough)

Rough tail section

Finished

I'm happy to have done all the work in my garage except the painting which I did at a friend's shop. Many, many weeks of hand sanding and re-finishing Runs and handles like new. This is not an every day rider. Sunny days and vintage rallies bike to hopefully enjoy for many years to come. Thanks for looking, and thanks for your vote.

Tough choice, but voted!

Seanbarney asked an interesting question regarding mileage. Some of the restorations may actually get some wear marks on their brake rotors! I hope they all get ridden and not just put on a display pedestal, but I suppose that does not take away from their beauty.

I'm not a fan of bikes that get displayed. When I restored mine I had the full intention of making it my daily rider and it is! Clocked 12k miles on it in a year

and hope to continue to grow. I don't polish it daily but I keep it clean and let the daily use wear it naturally

All of the bikes this month are restored to a pretty high level, and I can understand if owners don't want to ride them that much. I think a lot of it depends on whether or not you also have another bike you can use as a daily rider. I'm lucky enough to have a few of those, so I don't have to have the 400F designated as such. I hope people vote for the bike they like, and not whether or not they think it'll ever get ridden.

I have put 1400 miles on my bike since the restoration was finished a year ago.
Not a lot of miles, but I only ride about 2000 miles a year anyway. I don’t use
this bike as transportation, just a fun toy. I wanted it to be Show and Go and
that’s why I built it as an 836. I didn’t build it as an 836 just to look at.

I just got off the phone with Bill Benton and he said Sam is stable. He woke up last night which is fantastic and theyve decreased the meds. Waiting to hear more recovery news. Bike is actually ready to race, I know it'll be a challenging recovery for Sam but he's a tough bastard from across the pond. I kno we all wish him well. If you check out the high performance section of the forum there are updates being posted there. I'll be taking up the reigns of BOTM for now.

A little late to the game but here's a better pic of mine and link to the project thread. It has been a lot of work and I'm very pleased with how it came out. It's a rider not a show bike so it'll get some miles.
