Topic: dual discs

so call me new to this whole thing but I am currently building an 1970 cb750 as a race replica. I have bought just about everything I need. The only thing I am wanting to get, but don't know where to start, is I want to put dual discs on the front.
what do I need to get? What are my options?

Google search here is your best option. It was discussed many times.

If you want to be period correct, you will need C brake brackets, the early style, while T brake brackets from newer models are generally easier to use since they just flip over. Fork bottoms must match brake brackets, if you go with T style, you will need to upgrade your fork to newer style, not just bottoms, tubes too.

The original master cylinder can handle dual setup with ease, no need to upgrade master cylinder. It is reommended to go with SS brake lines - slingshot cycles has discount for forum members and his product is A1.

You can run brake hose to one caliper and from there to the second or you can use double banjo bolt - slingshot has them too - and split the line in brake switch.

Also possible to skip the steel line from caliper and run hoses all the way.

I added a brake...it was much easier than I thought (other than the frickin' piston seal leaking that I am still fighting)...but's that's more caliper re-building issues than the disk adding...

A little harder to set up and line up than meets the eye. Spent a lot of time building the right side carrier and haveing it welded up. The Lester wheels made it harder also. As stated all info is on the site. Dan

System that's more up to date
I still have the rotors and calipers from the gl1000 front
End that would do the job nice
