Topic: 750 center stand

Hi.  I'm working on a bike that doesn't have a center stand.  Made installing new rear shocks a treat over the weekend.  I have a stand that I can put on it.  Do I have to tear the exhaust off (standard 4-4 pipes) or anything tricky like that to put the stand on?  Thanks!

I can't remember if I had to take the pipes off or not, but I can tell you it's a real treat trying to get that huge spring on it! I think I got the spring on, got one side lined up, hammered the pivot pipe through and got the other side lined up with a line-up tool (steel rod with a gound taper on it). Good luck with it, as I fought with mine for a while....

you know, i had to take the exhaust off to put my stand on, but i think the bracket may have been bent.  the pivot pipe can only fit on from the right side though...i got the spring on pretty easy by pulling it back with a scredriver...good luck!

Someone once suggested placeing nickels in between the coils on the spring to strech it out, til you hook it up, then remove the nickels. Or currency of your choice. Beats having that hook slide off a screwdriver and come back at you.
