little things
« on: June 18, 2014, 10:02:31 AM »
Hey guys just needed some help with a couple things.
1. My speedometer suddenly stopped working I have no idea why.. Any thoughts?
2. My center stand seems to clack against the chain when going over bumps.. Any quick fixes for that? I see screws on both sides of the stand maybe if I tighten them I can re position and tighten.
3. The bike seems to get hot quickly any way to prevent it from getting so hot?

Thank you so much

1. My speedometer suddenly stopped working I have no idea why.. Any thoughts? undo the cable and see if its broken
2. My center stand seems to clack against the chain when going over bumps.. Any quick fixes for that? I see screws on both sides of the stand maybe if I tighten them I can re position and tighten.  put your original exhaust back on, or make a stand stop off your rear foot peg mount
3. The bike seems to get hot quickly any way to prevent it from getting so hot?  its an air cooled bike.  you gotta ride, man....  ;D
...or it could be an indication of a really lean mixture.  only you can tells us which.  ;)
Thank you so much

You gotta fab up a little bracket to act as a new stopper for the centerstand. No big deal, tin snips and 5$ worth of metal strap from the hardware aisle at home depot. You can even get the one with the holes punched in it already. If you get a thicker strap use a hacksaw and file, the thicker strap won't bend over time.

These bikes always feel hot, like flybox said, its aircooled. If you pull the plugs and they are white then yeah, that's not good. If you go from waterpumper to aircooled it will seem hot tho

Get yourself a new speedo cable, probably snapped internally. Motion pro makes nicer ones now, still only like 15$. I don't go for OEM on those kinda cables

Don't trust me alone with a claw hammer and some pliers

Upper left of the page is a Google Custom Search field.  It searches only within this forum
Do a search for center stand stop .  A dozen threads come up.  Pictures and all...

There are two on this site that I check out

http://4into1.com/motion-pro-speedometer-cable-02-0047-cb350-cb400-cb500-cb550-cb750-cb900/

The second one is the motion pro. Should I just go for that one? What websites do you guys use for your bikes. Specifically the 350's and the 350 fours
