A long time ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away, a small colony of Exhaust Spigots was plotting the overthrow of a 750 restore.
And then came our hero armed with his PB Blaster, Gordon Impact Wrench, 3 pound maul and his trusty sidekick a 40 year old Craftsman Electric Impact Wrench!
Guess who won?
??
And it wasn't that colony of Spigot Screws. LOL
But they did put up one heck of a fight.
3 of the 8 came out without bloodshed. Couple whacks of the Impact Driver and they were History.
2 needed the convincing of my trusty sidekick the Craftsman Electric Impact Wrench.
The last 3 (must have been the Spigot Leaders) required drilling and subsequent tapping. Nasty little Bas#$%$#s.
Conveniently I had a good array of drill bits including the 17/32 bit that was just the right size as the final drilling to accept the 8mm tap.
So, a full few hours but, the Exhaust Spigots are out and soaking in some Evaporust for a few hours. Then they will get the Ultrasonic treatment and hopefully be nice and clean and ready to go back in when I get the virgin 8X22mm flat exhaust spigot screws.
I plan on using some anti-seize on these little fella's. Unless someone has a different approach.
Will get some pictures later on after I sit and talk to Nips Corona for a bit.
Hard to believe some times that this is Fun. LOL
