I have received a donation in AUD from a Rob Lambert, i am presuming that this is you cbornotcb? Paypal is still giving me the option to refund this back to you, i could do this so you can resend without the charge applying if you want?

Morning, today's update. Sam's got a room number!!!!!!! Room 414B on Main 11 West! K. Wasn't able to work with speech therapist yesterday, so feeding tube in nose until later today when he can meet, gotta make sure he's ok to eat. Dusterdude etc. you can now visit.....needs visitors I'd think, but lets not overwhelm him. He'll be in this room for a couple days, so ok to send cards, call etc, but not til tomorrow on calls. Can be visited now! I talked with Lisa and let her know "who" she was taking care of!  ;D Sam's on track, but it's an endurance race now, no sprints or 1320's for a while! ;)
Lord, thanks for answering our prayers, Bill ...Sam, put on the race face, it's full speed ahead, ok 1/4 speed! ;D

Sorry today's update is a bit later than normal, i called the hospital a few hours ago but they were busy, said they would phone back but never did so just called again. Sounds like he has had a rough day today, pulling just about every tube out and causing the nurses a bit of grief, so much that they have had to put mitts on his hands to try and get him to stop pulling at things. He hasn't been able to answer all questions correctly today and has seemed a bit confused as to where he is. Not sure if this is just due to it being early days and the pain relief or if it is something more permanent. I have not spoke to any doctors yet so have requested that they call me tomorrow night, need to know whats going on in that mad old head of his! Sorry its not the best of news today, lets hope its just a little blip in a so far speedy recovery.  :(

Regards,
Jonathan.

Mick, you nailed it, my Dad at 82 had to be put in restraints...then got out of a straightjacket, woke my Mom up and told her
" Mary, I told you I wasn't spending another night in this hotel"! ;D, He had pulled all his hoses, IV's and more! So here you go ,the video...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please watch, comment all you wish, but please keep the comments proper, I think after watching it, you'll see why I didn't ride it....Sam looks like he sits up, something is going on, he has aborted the run, appears to be checking f/wheel area, then rear starts going L/R, L/R, then complete lock to left(mark on tank), he catches it, it comes back around about 270 degrees(another mark other side) and violently throws him down on left side. No doubt his helmet saved his life! Let me know what y'all see. Thanks and remember be observant, not critical,....Thanks Larry, great job! 8)
Check it out! The track had just been sprayed, shimmered like a lake. Watch me in staging, got an airshifter now, so I put my feet down, felt like I'd leave my boots there or bike just take off w/out me! So you see me put it back on the peg! No kidding, was talking with Jeff Sutton today, he said at Norwalk, it happened, boots stayed planted, ran over his own foot etc. That track was beyond sticky, it was tacky! Bill

Bingo Scottly, what me and Larry came up with, someone had just run in Sam's lane, we think maybe he dropped something. Bike has rear brake light, never saw it on, front doesn't have one. But oil has been what I been thinking, if he dropped something, we ran right after. If he noticed still no time to tell anyone! The way the rear comes around and him looking down.... Something was happening! Bill

I wonder about a possible mechanical failure.  Perhaps some sort of transmission or chain failure caused the rear wheel to lock up and stay locked. If so, that might explain the rear stepping out and the continued "slewing" despite apparent efforts to recover.

I am viewing on my phone so the screen is small, could be way off.

Hoping for steady improvements for Sam!

Only thing wrong with that theory is brakes and wheels and chain performed fine afterwards. We rode it and reteched it. It felt fine, but you can't rule that out! Thanks, Bill

Reckon your right Retro.
I just asked Ev, apparently they had me strapped down for a week.
I kept pulling my feed tub out, pissed em right off.
I wasn't very pleasant to be around either.
I remember nothing.
I'm sure he'll be fine.

Best description was Scottly
" like black ice "

Both wheels were showing signs of lateral movement,  Sam done a fantastic job trying to catch it with perfect corrections to the front wheel , looked like a speedway star, but with both wheels going sideways he had no chance at all .
Fair dinkum he looked like he could really ride, fcuked track beat him up >:(
