Great news, Jonathan.

Kudos to Russ Collins, Jr. for encouraging the rest of the forum. Cool tee, too!

Sam,

I've been reading and talking with Jim French on your unfortunate accident.  I wish we could have been there to lend a hand.  I'm happy to know you are on your way to a complete recovery and hope to see you soon again in Valdosta.  Take it easy and slow, you have all the best wishes of alot of people.

Your friend,
Dave Fletcher

Sounds good Billy.
I've got something in mind already.

Sunday morning update! Sam's chest tube out, 2 weeks before able to fly for sure. Maybe rehab there we hope. Sam hasn't starting eating much yet. Also the to be expected grumpiness showing some. She said not bad, just a little grumpy. He told me to come get him today or tomorrow ! He's tired of hospital. Perked up when Mark visited...he's needing a visitor or three! Anyone living close by, we need you to consider visiting him. It would mean a lot, needs some familiar faces etc. I'm trying to/ will somehow go back up Sat morning and spend the day with him. We might watch video then, nurse agreed not before. So he's in room 414B Main 11 West. Under the name TL Bark. Std trauma procedure. Anyone stopping by update him on what's being done. Let me know if I can help, thanks for all you've done. God Bless, Bill

I have just come off the phone with him, as Bill has said he is a little fed up with being there and just wants to get out. This will not happen for another couple of weeks at least so if there is anyone close by then pop in and say hello, i am sure he will appreciate an ugly face instead of the pretty nurses that are in bossing him around. He is not eating, the nurse said that he told here that it was because he doesn't feel well, when in fact its because he cant stand it, again in his words "you want to see what they are giving me", will have to see if Gordon Ramsey is in town. Unfortunately, due to not eating he isn't getting the correct nutrients that he needs to help him recover, so if you do see him or talk to him, please encourage him to eat for his own good. He still has some way to go but sounds like he is getting there slowly. Thank you all for the donations and please share this as much as you can.

Good to hear he's making slow but steady progress Jonathan, if he's owt like me he'll be a stubborn old git  ;) and I wouldn't want to eat something I don't like

cheers  ;) Mick.

Bill/Jonathan - I'll pop over this afternoon. I don't know him, so any insight into some interests that might perk him up, books, crosswords, chess...? Is he restricted diet? If not, I'll bring him some good, healthy food. What about tea? Does he prefer a brand? Any favorite snacks?

Feel free to reach me directly at cj@cybiz.com with any recommendations. Do you want me to take an iPad so he can we the video, or does he have a computer?

Any snacks or something he might really enjoy to give him some comfort? Magazines?

You know what, I just thought that he's probably grouchy because he's not getting to roll his own cigarettes! Hopefully this head bump will help him forget about that.

Bad news there, it's Richmond, VA, home of Phillip Morris. Cigs are readily available! Imagine I'd get tossed out by staff and some members if I snuck him a cig inside...

I wouldnt worry to much about taking food or anything, its the food the hospital are trying to give him that he needs to eat. Just some chat about anything should cheer him up. A s for the ipad, i believe Bill mention the nurses saying not to watch the video just yet. When i spoke to him earlier, he asked if the accident was in a car or on the bike, he is either still confused or having trouble remembering thing.

I would tell them he needs a Nicotine Patch, it keeps down the worst of the withdrawal symptoms. You can't take a person down that fast.

He has a patch, we told them and they gave him one early on. What you can do is take laptop and show him the outpouring of love and support! That would cheer anyone up. He likes his coffee or tea.

If Jerry is right and they are dosing him with Opiates, it is no wonder he is having problems putting things together. Most of that stuff really plays with your head as much as anything else.

Monday evening update. He's better but a got a long ways to go. He'll be on the mend fora while. Going to start the sale tonight for Sam. It will be under the For Sale section not the Hi/Po one as it should reach more buyers. So please post something like we did for Bear, sometimes something to sell easier to find than $$$$. Do what you can please, Sam needs it! He knows I'm coming up Friday, was still hoping he could leave with me! Told him I'd be there when that day came, think that helped him knowing he could recuperate at my house. K. Really perked up when I told him of Lewis' recent win...3of4 events he's won, 2nd in other one. With Sam's tutelage and Lewis' talent they've come far quick! Way too go Sam and Lewis! He know understands what happened now...I told him, but hasn't recalled us leaving Atl or any of Va. He's still wanting/needing his teeth, getting with nurse in AM to track em down. I told him he's got to eat etc. Got donations in the mail today, NitroHunter and S. Olson. Thank you will forward $$ to Jonathan and info to Russ. Thanks, Bill
