i've been a lurker for quite some time but this is my first official post. I have a great 75 CB550 that I love and it came with a luggage rack and back rest installed when i bought the bike. The cotter pins on the backrest, which slides in and out of the luggage rack, rusted out over time and ended up just falling out in the past month or so.
I never put new ones in as I slide the luggage rack out everytime i put my cover on (daily). The back rest would sometimes move forward in the luggage rack and almost come all the way out while riding. I fear that it did come all the way out the other day when i was riding, or someone stole it, so now i just have a luggage rack on my bike.
I'd really like to get an original back rest for this luggage rack again and was hoping you all could help. I've found a 750 backrest and luggage rack on ebay that looks very similar but not sure that it will be an exact fit on my 550. I thought maybe someone on here may have one in their garage they don't want anymore and would be willing to sell. I really liked it a lot because not many bikes have them and most people don't like them which is why i like it.
Please let me know what my options are and if you have one PLEASE let me know. I'd love to get another one as soon as i can.
