Wanted to say hi and thanks...
« on: June 22, 2014, 03:50:25 PM »
Thought I should introduce myself and say hi and thank you for the help.  This forum has been indispensable in making my 500 my own.  I've had the bike for 3 years or so and without this forum I never would have gotten her back on the road.

Somewhat of a barn find bike.  '71 cb500 that hadn't been on the road since '83. Set up for crusing with the typical stuff wrong (carbs, electrical, ext.), but motor wasn't stuck.
After a little work got to this:

After another winter I decided to Cafe it more:

and after another winter I added 550 jugs/pistons, 650 cam, and a 99 gsxr front end:

Theres still a lot to button up and finish off, but she's on the road and a blast to ride.
Couldn't have done any of it without this site so I thought I should at least share a little so people can learn some do's/don't from me.

Thank SOHC4 for all the help!!
