Slingshot Cycles closed for the summer?
« on: June 24, 2014, 05:52:02 AM »
I just tried to access slingshot cycle's page to resend an email inquiring about brake availability and it seems they are closed for the summer???

I'm all for private businesses allowing their owners to rest and recuperate but I need brake lines!!! lol

Where else can I go for stainless brake lines since my first choice isnt available?

I do have couple laying around.  But they are long though.  How long is your brake line?

Oh, wow. I must have JUST sneaked in the order I placed on the 13th. My lines arrived last Friday.

If you're looking for stainless lines, you might try Dime City Cycles. They have stainless lines in the lengths these bikes use, and even have the specific fittings for the hard pipe.

I wanted to order from Slingshot since he had preset lengths and new what we needed.  I guess I'll have to figure out what length I'll need for my Norman Hyde M Bars before I order through Dime City...

Any suggestions on what master cylinder bolts/wires up to our bikes but is an "upgrade"? or should I just rebuild my stocker?

I use rebuild original MC on my K0 with double brakes and it works well. IMHO you don't need to upgrade the MC.

But there are some chosen words in your future if you attempt to rebuild the master cylinder, LOL.

I decided to just buy one of these rather than rebuild mine: http://4into1.com/replica-kawasaki-complete-brake-master-cylinder-use-on-honda-too/

However, this was mainly because I had never attempted to rebuild a MC, and figured it was better safe than sorry when it came to my brakes.

I'm just taking a break from the two-job life.  I'll be taking orders on the website again in about a week after I decompress some.

I installed drag bars. I never measured them SC had drag bars as an option so I never measured. The fit was great though. I'm on the road, I was able to use the old factory line for now. I enjoy watching it writhe around when I apply the brakes.  ;) Thanks though.

Shaun, thanks for being a huge asset to sohc4 community (as well as several others).  Don't let us take you for granted.  I sometimes spend whole days building hundreds of hydraulic hoses at work and understand how monotonous it can be.
