Topic: 750 carb drip?

I recently went out of town and came back to a minor gas puddle under my bike. Thought no big deal stuck float..... Well it's not the float. I removed the float. The float need and the float valve stem thing. The carb continues to leak. The petcock is off. I am stumped.  What should I be looking for? Pics below.

Here is a pic of the lower carb. Also of the seat... I think that's the name. Drawing Drawing a complete blank as I was pumped after a few hour ride today and getting the timing set.

Any insight would be great!

My 750 leaked, too.  Fuel tap leaked even when turned off.  New parts form Honda and good to go.  Get the washers that hold tap to tank and the black rubber thing and a new spring washer.
Mine is a 73, newer ones may not be repairable.

Might be a leak on one of ur float bowl drains, it happened to me and a friend figured it out for me after I ripped my carbs down and back together about 10 times

Plug the inside end with a finger and blow on the other side and listen for air

It's my petcock. If sitting on the bike it's the closest to the front. This petcock was bought new last year. Looks like I need a new one? Or am I able to repair? To be honest I think even the day I installed it new it had a drip. Now it is a lot worse. I filled up a spare can cap already......

Also the 2 screws on the petcock were loose! Wtf. I tightened but still a drip....

The new petcock on my Z leaked too, I asked for a warranty replacement and Z1 Parts sent me one. Been good ever since.  Have the receipt?

EBay buy but I am sure I can go back. Probably just buy a new one. Got to get riding!

Confirmed it's the petcock. Also placed an order for a new one. I can still ride but I will have to catch the leak so my garage floor doesn't continue to get saturated

I used a baggie attached to the petcock to catch the fuel leaking [disconnect fuel line]

Honda sells the parts to rebuild.  Unless a new one is cheaper I would get the parts.  I would use some 600 wet/dry paper with some light oil and shine up the lever plate where it rubs on the rubber washer.

Steve k I thought of doing that but it leaked when I got it new last year.  Now it seems to have gotten worse. Not sure how one valve would leak and the other won't.

I read that Hondaman says that the float could hang on a burr where it pivots.  Remove that, if there is one.  I try to always turn the tap off.  Old bikes, old habits.  If the tap works correctly the carb can not leak.  If you don't want to use the tap, try parking on the centerstand.  That way the carbs are level and are less likely to leak.

I never use the side stand. I have a steep driveway and if I did it always seems to catch the concrete when I forget to lift it up. Hopefully the new petcock gets here soon.
