Oil gas and everything nice
« on: June 24, 2014, 08:37:53 pm »
Hey guys just curious on what kind of gas, oil, equalizer combo you use to keep your bikes running nice and well.

I've got a cb350 four. Should I put some gas stabilizer in it? If so what brand would work well for the oldies

Low-ethanol fuel. Ride the thing.

Seafoam in the first tank after winter.

Ethanol will gunk your carbs up nice and good.  If you can use non ethanol - Cam2 variant, racing fuel or any Aviation gas if you are not using the bike all the time its worth every penny.  I know some people like the Stabil Marine grade additive as well.

I use a product called Yamalube.I get it at a motorcycle shop by the house. It comes in a small bottle like for 2 cycle engines.A tech at the shop told me it works good.I haven't had any problems since I started using it.I used to gum up the carbs pretty regular on my 77 750 as I don't ride it that much.I think where you are in the country makes a difference in the gas.The same shop bought a gallon of premium unleaded at station on I35 here in Texas and had it analyzed it came back 17% ethanol. The pumps say up to 10% but that;s bs.Try the Yamalube it works for me.

Better gas?  I don't have an issue if I start my bikes at least every 1-2 months

Seafoam for winter storages.  Else I ride enough to run through tank within a week.  Ethanol free fuel available here to keep it good.  91 octane to keep down the varsols and garbage stuff.

Yes, really.  Even though my original intent when replying was to be contrary... Couldn't help myself as I was standing in the kitchen with the popcorn maker staring at me.
