'76 CB750 Ignition Switch
« on: September 21, 2006, 09:03:39 PM »
Where would the ignition switch have been from the factory?  The bike I just got has an aftermarket job haphazardly bolted to the bar clamp.  Just wondering since the original is MIA.   Thanks!

Bolted to the top yoke (tree) with the key sticking up through a hole in the idiot light cluster, between the indicator repeaters if memory is true.
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

My idiot light cluster is different, lower down and almost square.  I don't see a provision anywhere on the bar clamp for the ignition.  Maybe wrong bars and/or instrumentation?  My gauges are the same as the ones pictured, though.

on my 76 k the ignition was mounted on a remote bracket, I think it was on the left side under the tank.  My idiot lights were the same as yours.  no hole for mounting switch

I was kinda thinking it might have been on the left side, so now I guess I need a bracket and a new ignition switch, would you have a pic of your bike's left side?
