Most of the posts on this page have been posted by my good friends and team mates in America but this is the real me with some good news at last.
Earlier today, I got to see for the second time, the Neurological Rehabilitation Specialist at the local hospital.
She had visited me at home within a few days of me getting back to the UK.
She told me that the reason she visited me so promptly was that the referral from the hospital in Virginia said I was in a bad way.
On the day she visited, she ran some tests by me to which I responded quite well meaning that there was a big improvement from the day I left the hospital some two weeks earlier.
Today, she ran a lot more test by me and I responded to them even better, It seems I am only lacking in a few departments and she thought that with a little bit more rehab that I would make a full recovery with no lasting problems.
Although I am under weight and still very weak from the accident, It's looking like I should be ok if I follow their advise.
I would like to thank the organizers of the event who had me promptly air lifted to the hospital, the hospital staff that worked on me and looked after me, the people from my forum that visited me, the people that phoned wishing me well, my team mate Bill for looking after me until I could be flown back to the UK, my son and his step father who flew out to bring me back and to all the people that raised and donated to the fund to cover the expenses to return to the UK.
You all know who you are and according to the surgeon and the rehab nurse, I owe you my life, thank you all and God bless you all.
Sam.
