Morning update. Just spoke with nurse, sleeping beauty was counting Christmas tree lights for a racer....2 yellows, then 1 or 3 yellow, then 1 green....or the dreaded red! Keeps mumbling something  about Commerce, 11's, better rear brakes, rest hard to understand, oh yeh something about Hooters! I think he's on the mend. Tube comes out chest today. Then minimum of 2 weeks to stabilize lungs before any flight....chance of recuperating here, where he's at. Pray for that please, best for him.
He's about like yesterday, but still improving. I told Janet he'd have a visitor or two today. Mark and Cal. I'm off to work, she'll let him know I called. The recup was stated as acute, takes a while, we still need all the help we can muster. I'm heading up this coming weekend, if not sooner. But probably weekend. He's got glasses, just needed some readers, so hopefully he can watch video today and comment. Great news in all. Thanks to Larry, Russ, Jay, and everyone who's contributed in any way, you know who you are, THANK YOU, Dragracing and forum etc. all one big family. It warms my heart to see the response for my mate! Bill  ;D 8)

Great to hear from you! Glad to hear you're starting to stir. I'm sure you'll be stirring things up soon as well.  ;)

Just wrapped up my 2500 mile cruise on my K8 750 (or "mid life crisis tour" as my wife puts it) yesterday, that took me through Petersburg, VA a day late. I arrived Saturday, too late to offer you my support then. Hoping the prognosis for a full recovery is spot on, so heal quickly and get back to busting chops!  8)

Bill needs direction!  :o  ;)  ;D

Best wishes from both me and Karen.

Here with Sam, and Donny from nearby. He seems in decent spirits, a bit disoriented yet. Good sense of humor, maybe still just a wee bit dazed. Some charming young lady the name of Linda is gabbing him up on the phone and he's carrying on quite well.

Will snap a few pics when he's free, and post them up. (Trying like hell to get a backside with his bum hanging out, but no luck yet).

Mike when I asked Sam why he carried his bike down the track instead of riding it, he said you'd built and that was the reason it blew  :) So despite the toss, I suspect his charm is in tact!

I've traveled pretty far and wide in my days, what planet exactly is his accent from?

Bill - Had a very nice chat with Sam. He did pass along this message for you

And after a bit, I think the meds got the better of him... All I heard was "9, 9, 9, 9". This must be a racer's version of counting sheep?

I've made arrangements to stop back in the AM to try and rummage up some reading materials. If anyone has a strong recommendation about what would be of keen interest, I'll take any advice. Sam mentioned Sci-Fi and modern "avionics" perhaps? Couldn't tell if he was lucid or if it was his accent. Sorry-

Bill - Are you driving or flying? Let me know your schedule and I'll pop in to catch up with you. And the thanks is mine, or sending me to spend time with an absolutely charming, and charismatic gentleman. He's something special and very easy to know in a short time. Very privileged to have made his acquaintance.

Now, Jonathan, we here in the South practice this thing called chivalry. That means we never call al lady old even when she's your mum. By the way, your Pops was quite humorous relating her relationship as the ex-Ex. And he did confirm, she is your mum. So we've got the two of you agreeing on that!
