oil leak
« on: June 27, 2014, 02:22:05 PM »
well i am back! thought i was getting away from older bikes when an other 750 came bye, thank god it belongs to a friend. saw my table empty and suggested i help him with his 1978 750 k. this is the first 750 i have laid hands on that had a oil leak. besides the tach drive. the drip comes from between the head and the cylinder, but it seems to hang on the underside of the head. could this be coming from plugs under the cam towers? ::). realizing i have to pull the motor to change them. dont mind pulling the motor and valve train but dont want to puul the head if not needed

No, you dont need to pull the head to get at the pucks.
Just the valve cover, valve train, cam and cam towers.
It'll take you longer to get the engine in and out than to access and install new pucks  ::)

this will be a good read for you....http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=107040.0

I had the same problem.  Get a frame kit from 754.  You'll never look back.  Not a big job.
