Air Box Boots
« on: July 13, 2014, 06:52:46 pm »
Soooo, a million years ago, I ditched the airbox on my 78 550k for Unifilters.  About a half a million years ago, I wanted to go back to the air box, but one (only one) of the air box to carb boots was rock solid and cracked.

I have been looking for a replacement but all I have ever found arent meant for 77-78k models.  They all look the same, but what are the differences in air box boots from the different years and will any of the other year, and models fit a 78k model?

Thanks

Good overall quality. Though they have some flashing on the inside you should clean out with an x-acto knife, and they can be slightly too long so just cut down the fronts to fit over the carb better.

I ordered some of those too for my '76 550F after I kinda jacked up the originals during my maiden carb removal voyage.  Paul (the owner/manufacturer) was great to deal with and my new boots have worked out just fine so far (including a couple more on-off-on carb adventures.)

They're so pliable that when I take my carbs out I just pinch them with my fingers and pull them straight out of the box. Installation is reverse of removal.
