i think it depends on the filter and routing of the fuel line. i also use an inline filter currently and it does not seem to have any adverse effect.

i put it in because crap kept making the carb floats stick and this solved it. but i agree that it should not be necessary if the petcock filter does its job. may check how mine is doing or if it's present at all.

As far as design I think the model with the nylon tube that protrudes into the tank is better than the old model. Stuff like Tunap or Forté that you can add to the gaz can do miracles to 'free' the fuel traject. I was sceptical but I must admit it worked for me.

mine 550... first run perfekt after the inline filters vas gone.

..and the fuel lines vas shortes up,,so it had a sligty fall the hole vay to karbs---
after you have thanged tank...and start used it...some dirt vill lose and go to the filters.
.so klean the tank/inside filter...so there are no need for inline filters....i have kleaned tank,,by filled a box of small skrevs...and jump it for more auers..and then blow air to get rust dust aut...and skake it again..it takes a weekend...but the bike vil NEWER run vell before it are done..a accic klean after  vill klean it more..but start vith mekanik kleaning

but still....get a kompresion test of cyll no 2...it runs not so strong as the other...it vill give a direksion to vork..so no money are vasted in a vrong direksion
this engines  can have valve train problems..it can have influ if the valves not holds korrekt adjust
i kan not speak english/but trying!!

Ok. Yes, the new tank have to be cleaned and the filter in the fuel tap have to checked/get a new one. The tank looks a bit rusty inside, therefore I mounted the inline filters.

Yes. It could be great, if we could take a compression test on it, some time in the future  ;) Did you build Your own compression tester or should I buy one?
