The 3 best upgrades to date. Tires, Brakes & Fork.
« on: July 05, 2014, 07:25:15 AM »
Tarozzi fork brace, drilled rotor, and Pirelli Sport Demon tires. This bike seems like its on rails now. I have 100 90 19 and 110 90 18 on the factory rims that I laced myself. As per a previous thread I also coated the spokes and nipples. My powdercoater #$%*ed me well on the front hoop if you look closely. My oven isn't big enough for the hoops. Anyway I just wanted to say what a great difference the brace and tires made. The bike stops a lot better as well. Previously, my "professionally" laced wheels vibrated a bit. More so during deceleration. After doing it myself, taking the time with a dial indicator, there is absolutely no wobble or vibration. The Sport Demons look really cool (added bonus, not why I bought them) and feel like a modern sport bike tire. Even up at 80-85 mph, the bike just feels more nimble and comfortable.

I loved adding a fork brace, pretty noticeable how the front end stiffened up. Add a steering damper and you will notice more improvement in the handling.

Nice one lostboy. Those Perelli Sport Demons really are a great tyre. Wear well and stick like sh#t ! I've gone into a corner too fast a couple of times ( my fault ) and they have saved my arse. Once I learn to trust a tyre , I'll stick with them. Just remember to keep good tyre pressure in them. I run 32-34 front and 36-38 back.

I think I paid ~80 for each. Something like that. With new rim strips it came out to about 200 dollars.
