Which throttle cable is push and which is pull?
« on: January 28, 2007, 08:10:17 AM »
I didn't take any notes on this when I took everything apart.

Can some ont tell me if the top cable is the push or pull?   Kind of looks like it should be pull but wanted to make sure.

Thx!

Oh, it's a cb550

in the future... you don't need to take notes...

turn the butterfly looking thing back and forth and it's reeeaaaaalllly easy to figure out which one you need where.
also, take the cables in your hand so the casings can't move and twist the throttle and those are also easy to figure out which is which.

the cables... if they are used... can also tell you where they go just by inspecting the bends that they develop from being in place over a period of time.  they start to form fit to their installation and will look wrong if installed incorrectly.

Thx for the tip......

Now my problem is the new cables I bought are OEM spec and are way to long for the drag bars.......DOH......Note to self...must use brain sometimes even though it hurts    :-[

Will be searching the forum now looking for a place that can make custom length cables.   I think I saw one a few days ago.
