Yes the switch assembly has been attached but I think I just had an epiphany. So if the handlebar is the ground, the fact that the handlebars are painted are probably the problem right?

It very well could be. You can test continuity through the switch by connecting one lead to the light green, the other to the lower half of the switch housing. Push the button and check for continuity.

If the switch tests okay (I suspect it will, the switch is a pretty simple momentary contact switch) you will then either:

>Have to grind paint off the handlebars under the switch housing and under the handlebar clamp. Or....
>Run another ground wire from the switch housing to the frame or to a green/ground lead in the harness.

Haha, sorry! I didn't know that the handlebars were the ground. And....so I didn't think that they were relevant. My sincerest apologies haha! If you stop by I'll be sure to buy you a beer or two.

The start button is also grounded to the bars as well. If the start button works you must have gotten lucky and scraped enough paint on assembly to ground the right side controls.

Well I guess I deserve some smacks and owe some beers. Ground the paint off and horn works. The starter worked because the throttle didnt work so I had to sand that down for the throttle. I had no idea that the handlebar was the ground.

I'm really sorry for dragging you guys through my incompetence haha.
