Probably 110s or more and a needle clip change. But a plug chop will help (always 4 sets of new plugs on a rebuild!)

Have 2 sets of plugs now. Ordered 2 more as well as several sizes of main jets and some 42 pilots.

Ahhhhhh the fun of money...and the lack of it when you need it.

Going to have to finish the last bits and bobs on what I've got now. No money for fun. I do need to replace the fork tubes...may get some used or just order new ones from Z1. Mine are junk. Should have known that ages ago.

Other than that I'm waiting on pilot jets. I'm going to start with 110/42 and see how that runs. Finally managed to get the rest of the airbox pieces and things, so there's that. Now I need to kick Derek's ass to paint my bloody tank. (Yep.)

I need to get a hold on someone with a carb sync tool. Planned on buying one but again...no funds.

Yeah, basically. Kona Coffee Metallic is the color I had mixed. It is a Honda car color.

Alright guys. Yes, the airbox is missing and I haven't changed the petcock yet and I need a repro gas cap because mine looks horrible with that beautiful paint.... BUT.... Here she is!!!!!

I've had it up and down the street with a plastic tank a few times. 1.5 miles to be exact. lol

Still have some tuning to do, jetting, etc.. And I stuck the tank on but throttle cables are binding and some wiring is in the way. I'll get it sorted out.

I have been just staring at it since I get the tank and covers set in place. haha

Number 4's float is too high or not sealing (I might need to get some fresh float needs and seats. Can I get rubber ones and use them with the seats that are already on it?) and there are some niggles here and there. The front end needs new fork tubes, I still need to sort of jetting...and even after readjusting the valves I am getting some popping out of the 3-4 exhaust pipe.... BUT......

It is alive.

I've been playing around with it for the past few days. Cal sent me his carb-tune so I could get it synced. It was pretty close before but some tuning made it better.

After I did the carb sync I took it out for a ride. About 3 blocks away from the house it died...I forgot to turn the damn petcock back on. After turning it back on I fouled the plugs...walked the bike a good 1/4 of a mile before I got it restarted and running well enough to at least get me home.

Once I got it home I realized it was not running on all 4. Fouled plugs. I worked on it the next day. 1 and 4 seemed to be much cooler than 2-3. I changed out those plugs and then checked the timing both static and running. 2-3 was so far off it was half way to the advance marks! 1-4 was fine, actually. I corrected the issue and the bike now idles much smoother and all of the pipes are getting hot.

I haven't been able to test ride it yet...the joy of having family with other plans! May not get to today either...home with my 2 year old, gotta pick up my 7 year old later and I've got a gig tonight! *sigh*

I still have tuning to do. I drive the bike to the grocery store a couple weeks back and it only runs good in the upper registers. Died on me at a stoplight and doesn't seem to have a lot of power from a stop. It's nice having the forum but not having a guy here with me to tune who knows what he's doing really sucks. I will get it eventually.

Pulled the front end off so I could replace the fork tubes. Dave B sold me complete tubes minus the lowers (I'm reusing mine...I even stripped and polished them!) which I'm cleaning up and rebuilding. Turns out they're from an F, which is fine by me! Actually it's funny...he sent them to me and I got to looking and the parts were different...so I researched and found out it was an "F" tube which has a longer spring and a different damper rod...So I got ahold of him and bought the other one!

Anyway, I got the one I have so far rebuilt today. New damper piston ring, new copper crush washers, etc.. I put about 160cc of fluid in it from dry. Seemed right from the reading I did.

Anyone up for a trip to Topeka? :-D

Bogging at stop lights after warming up tells me its still running rich. Where are you now with the jet sizes?

110 mains and 40 slows. I had 42 slows in and realized after some reading that big bores tend to pull more gasoline for a given jet size so if anything I should have gone smaller. I didn't have smaller so I went back to stock size. I am about 3/4 turn out on the idle mix screw right now.

I agree that you'd idle/slow circuit seems rich. Try a quarter turn out at a time (mine are set at just under 1 1/4 turn out) I had the same issue for a bit.

I bet I went the wrong direction. Out leans it out, doesn't it? I seem to remember reading that somewhere.
