Hey, I have an idea!  How about some quality, inexpensive rearsets?  Man, I'm glad I thought of that! ;D ;D

What's that smell?  :o
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I just had an idea, but I'm sure it'll get scoffed at.

I'm a bit of a "purist" and nothing eats at me more than the faded redline on my tach.  It's a "Whiteline" instead of a "Redline".  I can rebuild the rest of my bike to PERFECT, but without a NOS tach (read: $$$$$), my restoration is a joke.  How about doing a set of factory-identical faces, then have the tools to rebuild the gauges WITHOUT cutting the band?  So that the gauges, (but the tach especially), look factory-fresh and not rebuilt.

I would pay good money for either factory tach faces with a nice, rich red zone and/or a tool to disassemble and reassemble gauges WITHOUT damage to the ring, making them PERFECT.  Or even shipping them to you for the work and paying handsomely for it.  Yes, I want a RED redline VERY badly.

Most instrument repair shops can do that for you mate, they use a machine that rolls the ring off without damaging it. They'll also wind your odometer back to zero, paint your needles, and lube all the working parts.

While all these appliques are nice, there's no guarantee that they'll last very long when exposed to the weather, and most instrument shops have new screen printed plastic faces, as opposed to stickers.

Lucky for you that you want to throw lots of money around, because they are not all that cheap, but the good thing is that not only will they look like new, they'll work just as well. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I feel slighted Terry

The colors on the face we make will out last the bike with 45 year open exposure to normal UV in daylight survival. These are not thin junk.  8) ;D

No offence intended Tom, I have seen all types of guage face stickers, some good, some horrible. I'm just saying that for a serious restoration where the owner doesn't want to replace them again in a year or less, he'd be better off with new screen printed plastic faces, with similar or even better quality than OEM.

I've never seen a decal that's lasted more than a couple of years in the sun, but I'm willing to believe that yours will last 45, if you say so. Cheers, Terry. ;D
