Seats for tall people! The few cafe seats I have seen around for the 400 have had a pretty short seated area. I did the build a tail on the stock pan trick and started my tail at 19.5" Maybe just a couple of sizes for each seat as that would give us tall people an option as well as the people who run reasets to get the proper butt to peg position.

just remembered an earlier thought i had... if you go the ecoupon route.  it should be super secret and just say "e-coupon" and ask for a special user id and password that we register with you.

by the way, if this happens folks... make sure not to give cheapo your actual password for this site... i can't imagine the h-e double hockeystix that would break out if cheapo were "every one of us"!

a fork brace would be nice for bikes where the dust cover sits an inch or two below the top of the fender.  a brace that bolts into the lower tube, doesn't squeeze fit around the lower tube.   some samples:

These are all great ideas. What we neeed is someone who can duplicate our 4 into 4 pipes are a price that we can afford.

Here you go El Cheapo.

I have in my possession a set of Clamps from the 70's. They are a clamps to reassemble Speedo's after removing the crimped on bands. Uses a screw to pinch the clamp back together.

You already offer gauge faces.

Why not have someone start making you a replacement clamp for putting the speedo back together. One that uses a screw which is unobtrusive.

That way everyone who buys your faces can put thier gauges back together securely without that "I pried it apart or JB welded it back together look"

I'd be interested in a cafe seat. It seems like you have a good amount of interest. I wish you luck man.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing or not with the cafe but here's what I've always wanted:

A long type seat that takes up the entire pan with seating space so it can accomadate two people. However, the seat is actually two seperate seats with a tiny oblique gap in the middle so that you can bolt, hinge, or snap on a rear tailpiece. This would allow me to have a cool racing class cafe solo seat while also being able to simply take off the rear fiberglass and give somebody a ride. This is why I can't ever justify buying a cool cafe solo seat because I have this internal dialogue that's like:

"Oh man, that seat looks really cool"
"But dude, if some cute girl asks you for a ride what are going to say? 'Sorry, I paid $200 for a fiberglass seat so I could die cold and alone'?"

Also, I would buy the dual front disc kit if it fit a CB550F.

I just thought of another product that would be nice to be able to get hold of... A flyscreen similar to the ones available for the new Thruxtons. Small, clean, and look way better than a viper. I honestly think they could be solid with no clear windscreen.

Still new here, so I may have missed something important, but what about a spin-on oil filter adapter?

I'd for sure be interested in just about anything available for these bikes

Well that's a bit hurtfull fella's, but hey, while we're admitting that we're all cheap, I guess it's fair to say that I'm no worse than the rest of you, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D

p.s., Tom, if you can make and sell GOOD QUALITY rear sets for 100 bucks, I'll order 10 sets, why do you think I don't bother making 'em with a mill and lathe at my disposal?  :-\ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Cos ya a lazy git ;) :) :D ;D ;D ;D ::)

You still smarting about that "old as dirt" comment Sammy? ;D

And yeah, I'm very lazy, but I'll tell you now that the correct answer is that the material cost alone would come close to consuming 100 bucks, and that's fine if Tom is happy to work for free, because there's a good 8 hours (or more, I'm just guessing) work in machining up one set of rear sets, once you've designed them, and tooled up for that particular project, of course.

In comparison, my coolers work out at about 70% of the selling price, which is still not a lot when I rationalise that I'm working for less than 10 bucks an hour, but it's 10 tax free dollars, and it's only a hobby thing for me anyway, so I guess I shouldn't gripe. The problem with making accessories for old jap bikes is that the target audience are cheap bastards (hence the types of bikes we ride) who quite sensibly can't see the point in pouring thousands of dollars into a bike with a resale value similar to that of a rusty Ford Pinto. (or Vauxhall Avenger for you Brits)

To Tom I say "good luck with your new venture", but don't rob yourself either mate, while your intent is obviously to help out other SOHC'ers, if you're not making enough out of your products to feed your fam, you're not doing yourself any favours. Cheers, Terry. ;D
