About lube. It's a long time ago I changed my chain. I'm more on a pedalbike nowadays.
Here's a question. Most chains come new a bit oily. Is this already the lube needed for say the first 300 kms or should you start lubing yourself rightaway and before you even start riding. I seem to remember I bought a chain once that came packed in this beige lithium grease. That one for sure was ready to go. Are there still chain brands that come like this?
I bought either an EK or RK chain (can't remember which) for my bike about 3 years ago and it had that white grease on it.  It was a #$%* to fit because it attracted every piece of dirt within 10' of the bike and needed cleaning once it was on. ;D

I went from a 2009 250 rebel to the 1992 cb750 (I know nothing about telltale symptoms). The sound of shifting is a big difference. Requires much more effort to shift into 2nd. The o-ring Chain is lubed with 90 weight oil. Each shift is a clang and requires a stronger lift from my foot. Rear sprocket and chain appears to be in good condition. Too little effort when shifting can lead to a half shift, or some grinding into 2nd. I tend to think nothing is wrong except my weak foot.
