78 CB550 hot miss ?
« on: July 07, 2014, 07:41:58 PM »
A neighbor kid came over with a cb550 cafe bike, all in all it's not too bad. Except it has pods and a 4 into 1 open pipe. It needs a lot of choke to start which doesn't surprise me but when it gets hot it pops back through what seems like an intake valve and it doesn't start well hot.
I already told him about pods, and to find an airbox. Also he hasn't bought it yet. I told him to take it back and I'd sell him a nice 750.
In the meantime I told him to check the valve lash first. Any Ideas?

It does still have stock points and coils. the owner has the factory airbox, he's getting it put on too..
