I was having lunch at a local farmer's market one day... helmet sat on the ground next to me. I'm talking to the new friend I made (Harley XR1200), and I go to put on my helmet.
All is fine and dandy until I kick Rhonda over and JUST after I put it down to first gear, I feel a tickling around my right ear. I push on the side of my helmet, thinking it's my hair in my ear or something. Then it tickles faster. NOPE! Luckily my sidestand was still down, or else I would have dropped the bike after it stalled when I threw the helmet off my head with both hands.
Guess what was crawling around my ear...?
An earwig. Nothing...yet!
I rarely ride with my shield up and shades on, because bugs at 60+mph sound like golfballs
I have had a bee hit my bubble at around 100KPH... I couldn't see through the splatter and had to pull over. Scary stuff. My wife, when she was younger, got hit by a bee in the face wearing a half-helmet, and it stung her.
