550F tool kit part number?
« on: July 09, 2014, 11:19:37 PM »
Hi all, just an easy question, well I thought it was easy until I checked the number. I was just about to buy an original tool kit for my 76 550F. The kit was from a 77F model and the part number was 89010-404-670.
I then decided to do a parts fiche search and found that the 76F number was different to the 77 ???? This model was original number 89010-323-010, then replaced by part number 89010-390-010.The main difference that I can see is the 76F model has 13 tools in the pouch and the 77F model has 11 tools.
I thought that these were the same bike except the color and year. Were they different and if not, why does one have extra tools? I guess it may not be a big thing, but I would rather have the correct tools and parts for the model.Iits all about being as close to original for me and having the correct tools under the seat incase of an emergency.
thanks all.

Why not consult the various Parts Lists? It's all in there.

That was quick Delta, will have a look. I did the parts fiches already. But still interested to see why they would be different.

I don't know about the parts fiches, but the tool sets are described in detail in the Parts Lists and you'll certainly find the differences there.

Tried many times to download those books, but no luck. Will try again later, but if anyone has the original tool kit and it is complete and let me know how many tools are in it or a pic of the tools, that would be a great start, mine is the orange colour Super Sport, thanks.
