There was some rain today (not snow) but hopefully my 750 will be on the road to the Everglades National park this weekend looking for some gators. Regards to all!!

Hard to say as additives has not been really added to the faqs.
Seafoam works very well. It is not an instant thing though. use half a can per tank of gas and by the end of the second tank you will see the difference. It is very good at keeping carbs clean. Far better than gas alone.

 :-\Hi 2000Daytona,

Sorry I can't help you about a location for SeaFoam,  but I have heard a lot of great things about it.  I am trying to locate some myself ( I'm in Arizona ).  I have been told that it is a real biggy in marine/boat motors.  Supposed to be good at getting rid of rust and then fighting the return of rust along with general overall cleaning of tanks, carbs, upper combustion areas.

I would think in Florida it shouldn't be too hard to find at any kind of marina shop,

HEY BOB,

Thank you very much for the link.  The site you list says that many NAPA stores have the Seafoam.  There are several of them within a few miles of my home.  I will check them out tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks again for the quick link setup  ;D

I had it put in my will that I am to be buried with no less than a case of seafoam.  They can't have everthing in heaven!  Put it in every thing  and you will be amazed.
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

Thanks! I did get some at Advance Auto Parts yesterday in Miami but wanted to read up on the marvels of this liquid. I think there was conversation in the honda CB750 Yahoo groups. I will have to search for the thread.

Ditto! If it was good to drink I would. The shop feels naked when the last can gives the last drop. O'riley Auto Parts here in the states has it.

So what exactly are the advantages of Seafoam over say ordinary carb cleaner that one would add to the fuel?

The advantages?

It's cheap, about $4.50 a can at Advance Auto Parts,
It's very effective, at least in my experience,
It's low-tech.  Mostly naphthates and other distillates,
And it's got a track record.  It's not very scientific, but it seems like all salty dogs love it.

Plus, the cloud of white smoke you can make when you run it through a vacuum line is absolutely impressive.  It looks like it's doing something.

??? So, in addition to, or instead of adding it to the fuel tank, you somehow meter it through the vacuum ports.  ???

You guys hooked me so I went out and bought some.Napa Auto Parts..$7.00 for 16 oz. can. I have heard of it before but never used it. The directions say 1 oz. for every gallon of gas so I figure one-third of can for each tankfull.I added one-third of the can, filled the tank and went out and rode for about 10 miles.I'll report back in the spring when I run the tank out a couple of times.

Oh yeah.  I do it in my Taurus about every six months.  You pop the brake booster line, put a funnel in it, and feed it Seafoam until the engine stalls.  Reconnect the line.  Wait fifteen minutes, push the gas pedal all the way down, and start her up.

You can immediately feel the results, and the cloud of smoke will clear a block.  Drive it around for 10 minutes to clear everything out.

Just in case anybody hasn't been convinced yet, this stuff is the $#!T!!!  I threw half a can in the tank yesterday and rode around for a bit and today it was idling better than ever.  There are a lot less flat spots in the powerband now as well.  I still might have to tear down the carbs but it's a lot less urgent now.  So anyway for anybody on the fence, go out and spend $5 at your friendly local auto parts retailer and pick up this tonic of the gods.  I can't believe I waited so long to try it.

seafoam is great stuff. be careful running it in the crankcase though, could remove some of the gummed up oil that could possibly be keeping your 30+ year old bike from leaking

but with that disclaimer, I use the stuff and have had nothing but positive results

I call it the half-ass rebuild, its a life saver for those that know they should pull the carbs but are just to damn lazy to do it this season.

yeah i like it. i just made my sister get some for her car. i've used it in my dirt bike when i neglected it for a while. it would pop and bog a lot. i put it in the tank kinda strong. after that tank was gone, no more trouble. use it in my othe bikes from time to time as well.

I use it in all my bikes, cars, lawnmowers, and anything else gas powered and it works wonders!
