1980 CB650A Swing Arm Bushings
« on: July 12, 2014, 08:05:31 AM »
My sons 1980 CB650A rear wheel is loose when pushing back and forth while on the kick stand. The axle and swing arm axles are tight. I found the part number 52108-460-300 on the net. I called Honda and it is no longer stocked.. Anyone have a source?

You will need the following parts to do a complete rebuild of the swingarm bushings/
2 - 52108-460-300 - BUSH, RR. SWINGARM
1 - 52141-460-000 - COLLAR, RR. SWINGARM CENTER
2 - 52144-460-003 - CAP, DUST SEAL - These can be used parts if they are in good condition with the rubber seal still intact.

Option 1:
Check with your local honda dealer to see if they can do a national dealer stock search.

Option 2:
David Silver Spares show the bushings as special order only. Search by part#
CMSNL show 1 bushing, 2 collars, and 2 dust seal caps available

Option 3:
Otherwise you can try to locate NOS parts on ebay, but be prepared to pay dearly if you find any.

I am trying to remove the old bushing but having problems removing the most worn out one.

1. Remove  the inner collar
2. 1st tried using a long punch, laid it on the inner edge from the other side of the old bushing and hit it with a hammer... no luck
3. Heated the swing arm abit with a torch... not alot just enough to expand the frame, -- tried punch again...

4...... Help before I do something wrong

5... started a search on removing it

anyone
