Moisture in guages 76 750F

What to do about moisture in gauges, is there a vent somewhere?

Gauges are sealed from the factory and the only real opening is through the two bulbs that illuminate the faces and have rubber seals that push into the metal cases at the back of the gauge. You must have a break somewhere in the sealed set up that has let moisture into the faces.
The rubber seals maybe breaking down on the glass faces, or possibly the gauge lights aren't sealing the rear of the cases properly. You need to investigate a little further by removing the gauges from the mounts and did this just happen, or did you buy the bike with this issue?
Common sense.....isn't so common!

It's probably the large gasket between the gauges or the small flat rubber rings. I've seen them in "good" serviceable condition and I've seen them totally dry rotted and cracked. unfortuantely you have to remove teh crimp ring and recrimp to inspect. I am not aware of a source for any of these seals (anyone know of one?), but I had enough parts gauges when I restored mine that I had serviceable gaskets on hand that were still pliable and not dry or cracked.

Would be great if someone reproduced these seals for the gauges!
