EBC Pro-Lite brake discs
« on: September 22, 2006, 02:34:47 AM »
Has anyone tried mounting modern discs on their CB750s?  Randall Washington, a Honda GL1000 restoration expert, has mounted front and rear EBC Pro-Lite discs on an early GL1000  with only minor machining of the front caliper.  The EBC catalogue (http://www.ebcbrakes.com/Assets/06intlmccat.pdf) lists bolt-on rear applications for CB750s but no front discs - is it possible to modify the front calipers to fit front EBC discs?

I run a rear Pro Lite on my F but the offset is different from the front. Maybe the front hub could be machined down to accomodate the offset BUT the bolt hole pattern is different for front and rear rotors on the F. If you used a Goldwing wheel or relaced the Goldwing hub I'd guess you could do it using the EBC rear rotors. As for using frony EBC's...there usually isn't enough offset for spoked wheels though there is probably someone out there that has done it.
