TTR400 rides the US by CB400!
« on: July 15, 2014, 07:04:16 AM »
EDIT: also put this in Travelers Rest section as well - http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=139405.new#new

Sorry for duplication

Writing this on behalf of TTR400 (Kevin from South Africa). He arrived by plane with bike on 4th July and came to visit me in Boston for a few days before starting his Grand Tour of the USA

He has a very tricked out CB400 with many parts he designed and made himself (if you dont know TTR400 products look here - http://www.ttr400.com/). The bike is amazing! Kevin is pretty interesting himself with many interesting stories to tell about motorcycles, travel, landrovers etc etc.

His route:
Boston to Skyline Drive, Virginia - Blue Ridge Parkway (all completed) - he is now in Nashville as of this morning heading to Memphis - then probably over the Ozarks.

He is very interested in meeting fellow SOHCers. He has a laptop - limited wifi where he can get it. Also has a oay as you go phone - call him 9617-596--0947) if you are on the way, and to meet for a chat or help him out in any way. He is a great guy to meet!

Some photos:
Kevin and his bike

the amazing bike

All the local Boston SOHCs were keen to meet him

cheers
Andy

Safe travels, Kevin!  Its nice to see pictures of forum members and their bikes.
Will there be a journal/thread of where he's been and where he's headed?

what a coincidence -  Frank aka Schnell is doing the same thing.  Toronto Canada, through the states, up through Colorado, over to California up to Canada and back over.    He was just in Memphis yesterday and rode all the way into my home in Denton, Texas.  We had a great night and he's just left headed toward Amarillo after some breakfast.

This is the first we met.  I had mentioned in a thread that if he was rolling through Texas, I'd have a bed and a beer waiting for him.   I had forgotten about it but he contacted me and took me up on my offer.   Great guy, great bike, great adventure.

Here's a link to his travels:   http://frankfoto.jimdo.com/motorcycle-trip-2014/

Got me thinking that I need to do this too.

Kevin - I'll extend the off to you as well.  If you need any tools, beers or a place to rest in Denton, Texas lemme know.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Great Kevin, I'm glad you finally managed to "get away". I'm southwest of Montreal in Quebec but close to NY state. If you're close by you're certainly more than welcome.

There is a bed and shower awaiting in Colorado if we can cross paths. Beers too! I'm in and out. 1 mile off exit 151 along I-25. South of Denver at the base of Pikes Peak.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I think Kevin is going to get online tonight and read this thread but if you want to PM him that would also help - Roach Carver I think he might take you up on the offer of doing some maintenance - think bike is due a service. His profile is here:
