Wow... I completely missed this thread... thanks Prokop for pointing me here.

Is the plan to meet-up every night at 6pm, at the VJMC stand?  Edit: Obviously... as the subject of this thread states as much :) - I might only be able to make one night, probably Friday or Saturday.

I'm relatively new to racing, and to get started I converted my street bike to a race bike.  Because of this I won't have two wheeled transportation that's street legal.  My friend (aka crew chief) and I may be following you guys in the support car.

I'll be getting down there Wednesday evening, and will be there all day Thursday and Friday (practice sessions), as well as Saturday and Sunday for the races.  Please stop by and say hi when you walk through the pit area - I've got a black CB750 - race number 171 (see my avatar picture).

Surely you can find someone who will lend you something to ride on. We might have the dt50 if nothing else.

Chris did you race this season? You must have otherwise you wouldn't be able to register at Barber.

My hope was to be back there to race this year but alas plans changed.

Good luck & have fun guys

By the way, they say all tagged, insured and street legal, but it seems like the only thing they enforce is the helmet thing.  I was told to park the bike and walk if I didn't have a helmet, so I found one at swap for $5 to get back to camp.  It would have been a long walk.

wow. I am jealous and wish I had made arrangements to go this year. I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on the event when you get back. I know it was packed last year.

I appreciate the offer, but no can do. Too much keeping me here and in order for me to go I have to plan way ahead. I just can't be gone this year. Complete bummer. Especially now that I know we have someone here who will be racing. I think I may try and get there next year though. It's a great time and my biggest complaint last time was that I wanted to ride more while I was there and sounds like there will be plenty of that this year. Thanks again for the offer!

I noticed that too.  I see that little blue tricycle there every year....

Hi Brent!

I've done two race weekends with AHRMA this year so far: Grattan and New Jersey Motorsports park.  So I'm eligible for Barber.

I could have done Barber last year, as I did two races at New Jersey, but I just wasn't comfortable with my skill level having just started racing.  My wife and I went down as spectators last year instead.

This year I've also done two track-day weekends, in addition to the AHRMA weekends, which has helped a lot.  Still, I'm no speed demon :)

So what classes are we looking for 171?  I assume that will be your number.

I got my bike apart, new chain and sprockets delayed because I thought my rear sprocket was honda, turns out the four holes are a bit too close together and my friend is going to  put it on the cnc so they will be in the right place. I  have new fork seals and cleaner fork ears but i might save that project until next winter when I can afford new boots, too.

Getting psyched up for it, 12 hour days in the swap meet is what usually happens.  It is quite the sensory overload.

Yeah, 171, I'll be racing in the Novice Historic Production Heavyweight class.... I think it's the class with the longest name :)

Are you riding far to get to Barber?  it's a tough call on how much work to do before a big trip.  I'm always end up working furiously in the garage before a big trip/event, and regretting it :)

We're coming from Oklahoma City area, about 12 or 13 hours is the fastest we've done it. That was with about a 10 minute stop in Memphis to take a whiz.

I should be on a bright 74 450 KO scrambler with the blue and white graphics if I bother to put  the pretty tank on, primer black bomber if not.  Big white sprinter van like pickers in campground "b."  Probably hang out in campground "C." for a while.

Do you think I should drag my old seat along to make sure people recognize Dorothy?

Leaving tomorrow morning, hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Friday in Birmingham is a chance of rain at 30%. A smaller chance the rest of the weekend.  Depending on where you are traveling from, southern plains have a much greater chance all weekend.

Hey everyone,
I am flying down from Idaho and don't want to dissemble my 500 for carryon so the wife and I will just be spectating.  I am bringing Godzilla/Pimpzilla down with me to hand off to Prokop.  We arrive mid-day Friday so we will try to meet up with you all at the Friday VJMC booth at 6 for the official hand off to Prokop.  Sounds like there will be a bunch of peeps so should make for a great photo.
See you in a few days!

This just made available , I think. We had a cancellation so the e-mail for a ticket in Campground "C" is being forwarded to us.  This means we will have an extra camp "B" vehicle pass for sale at regular price.   Paypal and meet up or maybe forward e-mail for the pass... I think we have already printed it once so might have to meet up or will call window.

Where there's a will there's a way.

Thanks Blackhog!... and for everyone who was rooting for me.

I had a really bad start off the line on Saturday's race (missed shift into 2nd gear twice!) so I started off dead last.  I fought hard to work my way back into the pack.  Out of four racers that started in my class I managed to finish in second place, so I feel pretty good about that.  I also managed to pass a couple of racers in the wave in front of us.  I'm usually the guy in last or second to last place so I'm really happy with my improvement.

I don't think I took a good picture of it, but I did have a large SOHC4 sticker on the tail of my bike. I think I mentioned SOHC4 to ten people this weekend... started sounding like a broken record :)
