Hello All.  Just registered and figured i would introduce myself.  My names AJ and I got two SOHC 4's.  First is my '76 CB550 Supersport and the other (my brothers bike, actually) is a '78 CB550k.  Thanks for having me.  Here is a few pics.

Welcome. Your SS looks just like mine - down to the missing seat strap! You have good taste ;D You will find everything you need to restore the other one here - but it looks like you got a pretty good idea of what you are doing on these bikes anyway.

Thanks for the welcome guys.  Hopefully the 78 will be road worthy this spring.  I keep you all updated with progress and pics on both biks.  Thanks again.

In the pics its just sanded.  We loved the way it looed and as of last week it has been clear coated.  Personally i think it looks killer.

yeah, i kindof wanted to do that, but didn't know how the tank would hold up without some sort of primer under the clear.

looks awesome though.

Yeah....I figured I would comment on the seat also.WTF? It looks like someone swiped the foam and pan and just left you with the cover. Anyhow...welcome and enjoy!!!

Thanks all.  Yea there was no foam at all,  the leather was just stiin there.  He was going to complain to the seller, but you dont have much buying power when the bikes free.

Yeah....kinda hard to argue with that price.What are you gonna say........."What you want to GIVE me that bike with THAT seat? I think you should throw in a couple of hundred bucks so I can get the seat fixed." (Don't think that would happen!!!)
