Fork Springs 550K/K1/K2 - Which way up?
« on: July 17, 2014, 12:28:41 PM »
My 500 has the same front legs as the CB550K/K1/K2 '76. I plan to service my front legs. Can't for the world remember how the springs are supposed to go in. The tighter coils up or down? Views don't help me because I remember a Honda mechanic once (decades ago) commented: don't pay attention to the picture, it is wrong. The thing is: I can't remember what picture we were looking at.

Pretty sure the tighter coils are up.  I just did mine, and that is the way I put them in.

Tighter coils go up, away from 'action'

Some disagree and say tight down but that is only for spring noise, don't bother
