Supply and demand my fine feathered friend.
You are trying to source parts for a 43 year old bike and that costs money, period.
If you don't like the prices sell the bike and take up beanie baby collecting, I heard you can get those real cheap these days.

Yes I understand what you are talking about, I honestly did not realize how much the supply and demand had gone up in the past couple of years. I am going to keep chugging away at the bike never the less as it is a hobby.
Your suggestion of collecting beanie babies is brilliant, but unfortunately I already have the full set. (Got any other suggestions) :D
P.S. Some of them beanie babies ain't cheap.

I'm not crazy about the price hike either but that is the reality of it all so I deal with it. What I am grateful for is that I can still get new parts for my bike, maybe not all the parts are available new but it seems our Honda's are easier to get parts for than other bike manufacturer's.

When I was 10-11 years old. That would put the year at about 1994, these bikes could be found on the side of the road during Bulk pick-up. We were so young we couldn't lift one to bring it home. Same goes for Puch Mopeds. Nowadays, you could sell a rusted out puch magnum for a few hundred bucks. I got my 77 550 without a title for 400$ and it looked like it was pulled out of a lake. If it was decent with a title probably 2500$. Everything comes full circle I guess. Funny, I was walking around Dicks Sporting goods the other day and the workout clothes look like something out of an 80's infomercial. I guess its just "hip" again to wear early 80's clothing and ride 70's bikes.
